1) Your modem/router does not support UPNP (Universal Plug and Play) and is unable to open the required ports for a Peer-to-Peer transfer, so you're file is transferred via a relay.
2) The person who you are sending to does not have a proper modem/router config or does not have UPNP. Same as above, but then seen from the other side.
3) Your firewall / the firewall on the other side is set to restrictive, disallowing the direct traffic..
Sometimes filetransfers are just.. slow, even when the things I've mentioned are all okay.

Ports? UPNP? Donīt know this I donīt have configured any ports for msn. My router is FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7141.
