If you open the event viewer BEFORE you leave your desk then it will track all of the events while you are away from your desk, then when you get back you can scroll back through it and see what has happened
or if it's just for selected contacts you can right click and do "contact information" and it will show all of their movements
You don't have to open it BEFORE leaving the computer. It will still log the events of your contacts even if not displayed, it is not like a program that should be run to work, it already starts to run when Messenger is started.
[offtopic suggestion]If we filter someone's events, Event viewer doesn't log it, but I still wish to see a specific contact's events in his/her own Contact Information window. Can this be done? I only filter people if they change their song for example too often and fill Event Viewer rapidly but seeing his events in his own Contact Info would be useful.[/offtopic]
And for the multiple selection of emoticons in Quick Emoticons Panel, it is still written there "Select the emoticon to add to the Quick Icons Panel section" but I think it must be "....emoticon
