Hi gang;

I've just gotten my first web cam - LifeCam VX-3000.

I'm running Win XP Pro (SP2).

I was trying it out with a friend of mine on Messenger.

She could see the video, but couldn't get any sound.

I can record video clips with sound, so the problem isn't with the web cam.

She can play test sounds on her system.

I'm new to this, so the problem might be something very simple
- I hope.

Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem could be?

i had this problem recently

go to Tool>>audio and video setup

go through the prosses and make sure you select the web cams micro phone as the audio device not your sound card

Hello NiteMare;

I did that, but it didn't solve the problem.

In Step 2, it's set to the web cam, and the green bar is jumping
up and down, especially when I YELL REEEEEL LOUD!

Ummmm ... that's probably where I went wrong.   

How do I start the audio?

if your using Window Live Messenger, just do it as a video call...that should work between 2 computers
