Most of the problems I see here are about chat log encryption passwords, but I've lost the password to my account's preferences... I tried reinstalling Plus, but I still get the same thing. Is there a way to recover my preferences password?
Please always search forums before asking a question. Searching for "preferences password" results in already many many threads which all explain what you can do in that case .
short answer: to recover your password: no... to turn off the protection: yes...
