Anyone know of a good one that supports the latest DX10, ie with games like crysis. I havent really got a budget, but anything under £500 would be good
Well, what processor model do you have??
Heres the best way to work out which brand is best for your computer:
Intel=nVidia
AMD=ATI
Simple really.
DX10 wise, i do believe that nvidia has the best DX10 cards.

No, Intel makes their own (laptop) graphics cards.
AMD just owns ATI. It doesn't mean that it won't work with an Intel processor. Same goes for nVidia cards.

Sure they work together.
Now that AMD owns ATI, they're even moreso optimized for AMD processors, which means, if you get a ATI, you might as well be using a AMD processor to get top performance out of your graphics card

RE: Graphics Cards
The problem with that way of thinking is that I have been using an Intel/ATI combo for about 2 years on my main computer, not once have I had a problem, even after AMD bought ATI. My only issue is the fact about some driver versions don't tend to work for some reason and cause my system to go nuts (nothing but a simple reinstall to fix that).
I actually don't like AMD processors since I have heard a lot about overheating issues with them, so I stay clear away from their processors. And the way I hear it, AMD is for gaming while Intel is for all-around... I'm not sure on that part, but eh.. I go Intel any day.
Avatars © to me.

Just no.. I have an E6750 and I'm waiting for my 3870s to arrive. Ati do not suck. They overclock really well thats of course if you can overclock your CPU and RAM to. I've seen better OC's from 2x3850s in Crossfire than 2x8800gt s in SLI. If you plan on doing no overclocking at all.. which I highly doubt you will OC, then get an 8800gt.

Wrong again. You will get better results with a CPU that can be pushed higher. In order for good overclocks you need all you hardware overclocked. Intel are the easiest CPUs to overclock atm so it makes overclocking your ATI card a breeze.

Crysis plays better on my bfg 7900 gt oc than most 8xxx series cards. I'd suggest either one of those or an 8800 series card.
Thats because you are running the DX9 version of Crysis. If you were to run a DX9 version of Crysis with any 8xxx series cards your card would get hammered.

Ew. 8800GT.
It's cheaper, newer, and better.
The 8800GTS 512MB is newer, and better.

It beats the 8800GT in all of the benchmarks/tests.
