I made a skin,
i have update versions of messenger and plus
other skins, downloaded from the site, work
i made a skin and it wouldn't show on my "preferences" panel
it showed, i tested it, it was awesome,
but it DISAPPEARED from the list after awhile and revereted to original
i am very frustrated and i have been trying to fix it for the past two hours
please help me

i do not know how to convert a regular .zip folder to a .plsk folder
i found a dead link in Willz's guide to a site for downloading plsk
how do i convert it?

Use a program like WinRAR to zip your files. Then click rename and change it to ***.plsk. And that's all you need to do.

when i changed the extension,
it would not import because it was not "a valid skin pack"
why won't it show up?

Attach the .plsk here. We can perhaps see what's the problem from there.

Possible that you've zipped the folder rather than only the contents?

The problem is the SkinInfo.xml file, if it's not showing in the preferences panel while you're editing it then you've made some sort of syntax error in this file.

EDIT: In future you should always make sure you have a backup of your last working version (at least) of all files . Skins are very sensitive and can always end up failing to work for one reason or another, and at times it may be difficult to reverse your actions without a backup.

Make sure you have attached the XML file (maybe this first idea is stupid, but.... who nows) and make sure the XML is directly on the zip file and not in a Folder, as aNILEator said before.... The other files can be in a folder, but on XML you'll have to specify the folder + the file to, for example, change a picture....


PS: Make sure that the XML is working properly too...

what i found when i made a simple skin was that it worked when i ran the made plsk file

This same thing happened to me. And SkinInfo was fine, like perfect. I had to reinstall Plus! for it to show up again.

Definitely not anything to do with SkinInfo as I didn't change it after uninstalling.
