Antivirus: McAfee total protection 2008

I see everybody's name as i did before i got Plus! Live. Even my own.
This all happened when i restarted my computer to install my new antivirus. (maybe not the antivirus, but the restart) When i logged back in i saw the coding and no colours.

I just uninstalled both MSN and Plus! and reinstalled them, yet i get the same results.

Anyone have any Idea on how to fix this? Anyone else have this problem?

ex.   my name shows up as" [b][u]LeDrew[u][b] " instead of it being bold and underlined. (i know the codes are wrong btw...)

Mind if I ask where your typing that? If it's in the main MSN window itself, then there's your problem.

You have to type it in a convo from my experience.

/nick [b][u]name_here[/u}[/b}
(just replace those } with ))

no in->  "Options..." and in the "personal" tab
then in display name...

i type there:
= [c=13][u]LeDrew L'Amour[\u]™[\c] [b]Force a smile and blink away the tears.[\b] =(end tags edited)
and it stays like that in the contact menu.

and i don't see the colours in the contact menu(i have myself added to send myself homework quicker) nor do i see my friends display names in colour any more/ just the BB codes.

it work before today.

As far as I know, Plus has no support for the Options area in changing the name. Don't know why really. Have you tried changing your nickname with the /nick command in a convo window?

won't work... i cant use commands either.

You can chnage your name from anywhere, not just by using /nick

i figured that, should this e placed in the bug section of the forums then?

Yes, I know that. He's asking about the commands which have no direct support in the Options part. At least, when I try. It works if I just use the /nick function to add a bold to my name or something, it works then.

And are you sure Plus is installed and working? It works for me. o.O

[edit] BAH! I'm an idiot. But anyway, after poking around myself, they still work either way. IMO, you might have a bad install or something.

everything worked fine until i did the McAfee reinstall method. if anyone knows what that is. I thing either the reinstall or the .exe uninstalled you have to get from them messed something up. I can change skins and stuff, just can't see colours.

Well, I'm only going out on a limb, but McAfee might be the issue itself... I don't really like them anyway. Have you tried using Plus! without McAfee installed perhaps? Mainly since I think somewhere in McAfee is not allowing Plus! to run properly as it should, but that's just what I read somewhere here on the forum. (may have to search a bit)
