I have a problem!
I have downloaded This 4.50 version of the messenger, and i download the skins, but it says i dont have a valid version!!!??
I saw that preety much all the skins say that i need to have something 8.5x or 9.0x
And i cant find that anywhere, i dont even know what it is!
CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!????
I want to have a new skin, but i cant!

For Windows Live Messenger 8.5 (the latest public release) download and install from http://get.live.com/messenger/overview

I just started the download!
But can i then use the 8.5 skins and less(8.0.....)
Or can i use the 9.0 as well?
And what does that x mean? (8.5x)

If you have 8.5 you can only use skins which are for 8.5.x.

The x is just a placeholder for other numbers. If a skin is compatible with 8.5.x, it means its compatible with all versions of 8.5

i have had the same problem and i have downloaded 8.5 but i am wondering whether that will stop messenger plus! working?

Messenger Plus! Live is an add-on for Windows Live Messenger. That means, it hooks into Windows Live Messenger and adds features to it. Therefore, you need Windows Live Messenger to use the features of Messenger Plus! Live in it.

So, you should install these programs in the following order:

1. Install Windows Live Messenger.
   
2. Install Messenger Plus! Live.
   
3. Install the skin for Messenger Plus! Live.
