O.P. Can't turn on wireless

My friend cant seem to turn on the WiFi feature on his Dell Inspiron 710m. There is no visible switch in which it turns on with and i have been searching the computer and have been unable to find anything. can anyone help?

btw, the laptop does have a wifi indicator light but the switch is nowhere to be found

softwre enable
control panel > system> hardware >device manager
or
network connections >right click > enable

nope didnt work, apparantly everything is switched on but the computer doesnt seem to think so. the wifi switch just refuses to turn on basically
