O.P. SUGGESTION: Automatic greeting text
Hello!
Please add an Automatic greeting feature (like saying Hi, to all the people on your list...)
Thanks in advance,
Panarchy

RE: SUGGESTION: Automatic greeting text
Can you explain a bit further? When do you want this to happen? When you sign in, when you open a window or maybe something else?
I cannot hear you. There is a banana in my ear.

O.P. RE: SUGGESTION: Automatic greeting text
Hmm... well I think it would be a good idea, if I can select (only online people) on my list, either all of them or a selection. Then by right clicking (Or maybe an icon, or as part of the Plus! menu) I can send a greeting.
Doesn't have to be a random greeting, can be just "Hi!"
Please add this feature!
Thanks in advance,
Panarchy

RE: SUGGESTION: Automatic greeting text
I doubt that it will ever be added to msgplus itself, but this is definitly possible to be done with a script.
So basically, what you want to see is a menu option to send a message to all contacts that are either online, or chosen from a list that are online, all at once?

Yep, that's right!
Can you write me a script or tell me how I can write my own script for doing that?

Did you mean something like [thread=tid=63043]? If not, exactly what did you want it to do (step by step would be nice if you dont mind)

RE: SUGGESTION: Automatic greeting text
I know it isn't exactly what you want, but you can open conversations with all the contacts you want to greet and in one of them type:
/all Hello!
This will send "Hello!" to all open chat windows.

RE: SUGGESTION: Automatic greeting text
to send a message to all contacts;
open a separate chat window with all the contacts that you want to send the same message;
Type the following in any of the chat window
/all <message>
where <message> is the message to be sent to all contacts;
I do wish that there could be a script to send the same message to either those online or offline instead to open an individual chat window for each contacts; more like a mailing list I suppose;
If I put the contacts into different groups, would I be able to send a group message instead?

even better you could make a Quick Text
eg. /hello = Hey
How are you?
What are you doing?
then u just need to send "/all /hello" and all the open conversations will get the proper greeting.

RE: SUGGESTION: Automatic greeting text
Just remember that saying hello just for the sake of saying hello or to let the contact know you've just come online, can be seen as very annoying to your contacts.
