it is signed, and that's what matters... Patchou can't do anything else regarding the installer.

RE: Beware of scammers
Patchou> According to their database, msgpluslive.net is rated red with a big "don't go there" cross and is said to link to "unwanted programs", including 11 "trojans".
Fair enough as long as MessPlus contains the risk that some noobs might end up with adware on their computer upon installation.
Patchou> If you check messengerplus.ms, one of the scammers' web sites, you'll see a green checkmark and a note: "We tested this site and didn't find any significant problems".
ROFL... It says on siteadvisor.com that they've downloaded 1 file off the messengerplus.ms site.. the least they could do is check this one file before giving the site a green checkmark... Sheesh!
Btw, if anyone wants to know more about the nature of scammers, you should really check out www.419eater.com. It should yield hours of entertainment.

RE: Beware of scammers
can you put a warning inside the installer saying "if you downloaded this file from any other site other than www.msgplus.net than you may have been scammed or have a virus"?

I assume that if they can insert a window in the installer asking for a code then could remove the message anyway.
If only I knew what I should put here

Who would read it? And other site could probably change strings to their site and re-distribute it

RE: Beware of scammers
The ad is not there because it's a Google Ad. Google Ad bars have the same coding in every single one of them and they link to sites refering to some content found in the site. Since Forums have a lot of content, the ads change every time you refresh.
EDIT: To keep on-topic: I've heard about this in my Computer Competiencies class (really basic class that are more geared towards older people than graduates because it's required). Something really has to be done about this...Patchou, are there any graphical things that are really hard to immulate that could be made into a focal point for the site? Something that couldn't be lifted with just a printscreen and photoshop but requires really specific coding or something?

RE: Beware of scammers
The phishing thing was posted online by a guy.. The one where shawnz made a (rofl) keygen for it
Its absolutely lame. Such sites should be red flagged by site advisors, rather than the actual site being red flagged.. this is just wrong
