I really cannot understand why msn messenger keep changing accented characters used in my Nickname or Psm...
If I use a character with an accent, after a while it changes those characters with other ones.
In particular this is the "changing table":

• à ----> Г
  
• è ----> ГЁ
  
• é ----> Г©
  
• ì ----> Г¬
  
• ò ----> ГІ
  
• ù ----> Г№

(the original letter is reported in bold while how it becomes is in red)

I cannot catch a possible link within the original character and the characters replaced by messenger...

I'm using "Windows Live Messenger 8.5.1018", but It should be pointless because I've this problem since the introduction of the Live 8 series...

Any ideas?

can you post your entire name? does it contain any kind of Messenger Plus! code in it? do you use features like personalised status?

Well, I don't use personalised statuses and I use msgplus codes in my nickname:

whereas this happens the same if I remove msgplus codes from it...

If I type a simple "à" as my nickname, in about 30 secs it gets changed to "Г"...
It should be a server problem, not a client one...

Is anyone else having the same experience?!

It's getting annoying to me...

May be the font?

How do other contacts see it?

Yes, it is a server problem. If you don't care about the roaming option of WLM (Options>General>Use same display picture and personal message where ever I sign in), disabling it fixes the problem. A couple of members here complained about that problem and this method fixed it for them.
