O.P. Huh?  2 Problems Needing Solved
Right well Microsoft couldn't help me in the slightest and this forum is full of friendly members so I have 2 problems yeah..

Number 1: When I click the 'Save instant messaging contacts' button nothing happens at all, what could be causing this or even better what could solve this?

Number 2: Windows Live Messenger seems to be going really slow, I'll click a conversation window and it won't show on screen for about 7 seconds where it then appears or I'll be typing in a conversation and halfway threw a sentence the window will freeze and my typing will stop then around 7 seconds later it starts again and I know this isn't anything to do with my graphics card or processor as its a brand new machine with a nice dual core processor and 8600+ graphics card with 4gb of ram. No other windows go slow like Firefox or iTunes etc..just Windows Live Messenger.

Anyone able to help me out?

Would mean alot :D

Type (!VER) in a conversation and it will tell you the version for WLM, Plus! and Windows, which will help us try to solve your problems.

Right done as follows and here are the versions..

Windows XP Service Pack 3 (5.1.2600)
Windows Live Messenger 8.5.1018
Messenger Plus! Live 4.60.0.324
Skin: Ev0 3.1.8

I have tried reinstalling Messenger and using its default skin etc.

Any ideas as to what is going wrong?
