Okay, I'm not sure if this has been answered, but out of the few I've looked at, it hasn't.
I have Windows Live Mesenger, I had Messenger Plus! (no idea what version) but like I signed in yesterday and it told me to update.
So I updated, and all of the sudden it's vanished.
It hasn't vanished off my laptop, it's just vanished off msn.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled it loads of times, restarted my laptop, I've repaired it, and still no luck.
That thread that was like "Have you got smiley central etc etc" or w.e is no used to me, 'cause I don't have any smiley/buddy/w.e stuff installed. I have no plug-ins either, unless you count the one that's been there when I installed msn, that shows the music I'm listening to in the personal message as a plug-in.
Please help!!?!?!

Did that with Wnidows Live messenger or Plus!  ?

i uninstalled and reinstalled both windows live messenger, but only repaired the Messenger Plus.
should i repair windows live messenger and see what happens ?

Well, i already had that problem once, but with iTunes.
I've used CCleaner to uninstal it completely (removing it's folder and registry keys automatically), then redownloaded and reinstalled. Now it works fine.
Also had problems with both WLM and iTunes when both were opened at the same time...
do you use anyother program when you open you WLM? (Like WMP, MS Office, Internet explorer...)

also, check at task manager if windows live messenger process starts up (it is msnmsgr.exe)

in task manager it's there as msnmsgr.exe.

Erm, never really normally just switch on,  then open WLM and sign in, only every now and then I have IE open before, but that is extremely rare if that's what you mean ?

I don't have CCleaner. But like when I delete stuff and get ready to shut down, just before i do I use this program called Window Washer, and it like empty's the recycle bin, and clears cookies and other internet and computer stuff I think.

Should I uninstall WLM and Messenger Plus, window wash then reinstall everything?

I think you should try uninstalling both plus! and WLM, download the latest versions (WLM 8.5 and plus! 4.6) and install everytinhg again, window wash before installing if you want to.

I finally found the old version of Messenger Plus and re-downloaded it
Weird, my msn doesn't like the new one
