okay i made a  skin really really basic... the same as the one in help thingy just with my own photo instead of the cloud one  but  it won't let me use it =[

First of all, you need to specify the image's name in the SkinInfo. Also you ensure that you have specified the right format of the image. If the image's format is gif, you need image.gif for example. You also need to have the image in the skin's directory. Check all this and read the documentation carefully and you should be fine.

Could you please be a bit more specific as to what error you get/what goes wrong.

"It doesn't let me use it" isn't too helpful ;[
