I noticed my wlm was not working properly ( i typed a message into the text box to one of my contacts and there was around a 10 second lag) so i decided to unistall it and try and re-install.
When i got to the add/remove section of control panel i noticed there were 2 wlm programs, i delete the first one with ease but the seond one said " This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can acces it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package"

I have no clue what to do and i cant install the latest versoion (9.0) because it says it cannot unistall the previous version
PLEASE HELP

I think maybe what you done was, you uninstalled Windows Live Installer, then tried uninstalling Windows Live Messenger, and you can't because the Installer isn't there.

Solution: Download WLM again (9.0 if that's the version you have), which will include the installer. Then you can uninstall WLM if you wish.

When i run the WLinstaller it says it cannot remove the previous version?
im downloading the exact same version though?
Atm im using msn 8.5 lite which doesnt have scripts or colours
please help mate

Is Windows Live Installer in Add/Remove Programs? If it is, remove it.

Go here, untick all the boxes apart from Messenger and download WLInstaller.exe

This will install WLInstaller. Then select to download and install Messenger.

If you get any errors, tell me the exact error code and I'll look into it.

It says i can't uninstall the older version
