O.P. Huh?  Reset to default Messenger skin
Hey. Just wondering. How do you reset the background to the default mesenger skin?

RE: Reset to default Messenger skin
If you've installed a skin, go to Plus > Preferences > Customize > Skins(down left side) and select "Standard Messenger Look(no skin)" Then click Apply, OK and you will be asked to restart messenger, after doing so the skin will have be reset to default.
