I used to have Messenger Plus! Live and it worked, but it no longer does.  When i disable the internet it launches fine but when i enable the internet i get an error report.  Could Norton be blocking it from accessing the internet? Please help i attached a picture of the error report because it looks different than normal.

I read some forums to see what could be wrong but nothing was there.  I do not have WLM beta 9.0 and i reinstalled both WLM and Plus and have the latest versions.  Also i tried downloading from a mirror.

Please help me!

erm. try disabling norton and see if that has any effect?

I turned auto protect and firewall off on Norton and it still didnt work..

does messenger still crash if plus! is not installed? or do u know if its a wlm or plus issue causing it?

its plus causing the problem. i can launch WLM without plus by running:
"C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe" /PlusEnabled=0

and this works fine without error.

Have you tried completely closing Norton when running Plus? There are some known issues with Norton IS

Only trouble with Norton is that it doesn't let you close it, or end its processes or anything

The only thing you can do is remove it (which is dodgy as well cos it always hides itself in add/remove programs.....usually under "NIS" with no other identification)

Norton caused at least 25% of the problems I delt with as tech support for my halls at uni, in my opinion you're better off without it

Just download AVG/Avast and ZoneAlarm and then ur much better equipped to face the internet...and for free too!

I have another computer that has Norton and Plus works fine on it.  Do you think it could be something else?

It doesn't seem to affect it on all computers (from my own personal experience)

Alright i removed norton and it still does not work
Any suggestions?
