is there any chance we can get some low down on some of the new features that are going to be in the newest msg plus??

i sent a pm to lou offering my ideas and these included:

ability to remove all the advertisements and annoying buttons  (similar to the A patch)

an imitate feature like msg discovery

and ones that i forgot to mention:

removing the "groups" in msg 9 as i have an empty group called "groups" which realy irritates me

grouping convo replies for people who give many short replies in succession so make it like:

BLAH says:

*hi how are you
*it was an interesting day wasnt it

instead of

BLAH says:

hi how are you

BLAH says:

it was an interesting day wasnt it



and last idea... make it that nicks in convos can be fixed so its like...

he says:

you say:   

instead of having HUMUNGOUS nicks in your convo

This can already be done.

Simply go Tools > Options > Messages > Group sequential messages from each contact together

This can also be done.
Simply give a nickname to your contact like this:
Right click on a contact > add a nickname.

To shorten your own name, you can use stuffplugs Chat-Only Name feature. See www.stuffplug.com/

I dont think this will happen, as advertisements are a source of income for WLM, however certain skins and patches, like the A-patch, can remove them.

oh wow... never realy noticed those settings.. cuz i never reay knew what they did...

1. removing the ads is against the terms and conditions of windows live messenger so patchou will not implement this

2. imitate feature is already done by many scripts, search the script database for these

3. i dont know about groups in wlm 9.0 but in 8.0, 8.1 and 8.5 there was no way for plus to work with groups so this may not be able to be done

4. the grouping of messages is a feature in 8.5 and as i have not used 9.0 i do not know if it is still a feature... in 8.5 if you go: options > messages > check "Group sequential messages from each contact together"

5. this could be done i think if patchou re-adds his nickname stuff from previous versions, this was going to happen but i dont know if he has gotten around to it (reason for it not already being in is that he was waiting for the wlm team to update theirs, which they havent as of yet... for 8.5 and i dont know about 9.0)

No it hasnt been released yet, when it is released, Patchou will surely make a thread about it

im using messenger 9 as i said earlier and whenver i put in a custom emoticon.. it duznt come up in the convo and instead looks something liek this...

even if i click on the actually emoticon picture or if i type the shortcut... my friend said she can see it as the emoticon, but how do i fix this, so i see the emoticon in my conversation??

i already put settings as "show emoticons" and "show custom emoticons"  so i dont see why its screwing up...
