Did you install Plus with or without the sponsor?

mmm I installed messenger plus right with windows live messenger

that's all what i know..

what's the sponsor exactly...in which name would i find it on the  programs list?


and again does adware has any thing to do with it ..since my windows defender is stopping the adware from running

btw... I use windows vista

If windows defender is blocking adware and you installed plus with the sponsor then this could potentially be causing the problem.

The sponsor is an option during install.

Try removing Plus! (from Programs and Features) and re-installing without the sponsor

Also, are you an administrator on your Vista install?  If not then it's advisable to run the Plus! installation as an administrator (right click on the file and choose "Run as administrator"....also try the same when opening messenger

actually i didn't notice the (sponsor option) at any time I tried to install the messenger...but I'll follow your advice and tell you what happen : )

I think my problem is over by now

and the additions are back...

the problem was that plus disappeared while msn messenger remained in my pc which caused me confusion..but later on I reinstalled msn messenger 8.5 and then plus..( with out the sponser ) as u said.


the problem was teeny weeny infact

alas! i wasn't aware of that lol
