Windows xp  service pack3
1gig  memory
running  windows   messenger live     version  2008   (build  8.5.1302.1018)
installed Messenger  plus  version     (  MsgPlusLive-470)   
after     20  seconds  of  sign in     it  crashes.

Things  i h ave done to fix
-uninstall  msn live   ,  delete folders  messenger
reboot   pc   re-install  msn  live
-re-install  messenger   plus l ive    ver470

same  problem

i  have  un-install  messenger plus     ,  windows  msn   live  works   good.
as   soon  as   i  install  messenger   plus   it   crashes.

please help.

What error message do you get when it crashes?

I got the same problem, and this is indeed a problem related to Messenger Plus!. After I uninstalled Messenger Plus, messenger Live doesn't crash anymore.

i finaly found the problem, i had a trojan virus on my recycle bin everytime i would install  messenger plus it  would crash, when i remove messenger  plus    , it would work fine but people where tellng me that i was sending them some      url's . i had to  scan virus  in dos mode . and  remove then i nstall live plus  it works fine now

It also wouldn't hurt if you would change your password, because URLs are also often sent by some 'block checker' websites.

People sing in to that website trying to check who blocked them (although it is impossible to know) and then it steals their login details singing in randomly to their account and sending links to their contacts.

Can I ask you that how did you find that trojan virus? And what name is it?
I don't konw how to  scan virus  "in dos mode". @@

I finally know that what virus caused that problem.

It is "Kavo"!

I use a software named "Kavo_killer" to solve this problem.
