I fell asleep and started watching it when Elle was electrocuting Sylar... I don't get how he got her power without dissecting her brain though. Maybe because she electrocuted him so hard? Or maybe his powers have "grown" as well and now he can "understand" powers without actually killing anyone.

exactly, it was to show that he had finally felt empathy for another human being....knowing what it was like to be used that way by your father and to be turned into something against your will.....and he let her take it all out on him......he was a good person for once and he got rewarded and his hunger satisfied
