RE: Reduced quality display pictures
I've seen this happening ever since they added the feature to have your display picture be the same at every location, so my guess is they don't keep a good quality one online and grab that randomly.
The future holds bright things in it\\\'s path, but only time will tell what they are and where they come from.

Hmm that sucks.
I guess I could untick it, I don't really sign in anywhere else.
I'll give it a try, thanks.

Doesn't matter which format it is, happens with all.
Bug has been posted on Connect, so if you're in the Beta and haven't voted on it yet, you should do so if you want it to at least have a chance of getting fixed.

Turned it off and picture quality is fine now.

RE: Reduced quality display pictures
I remember reporting this ages ago, its absolutely ridiculous, don't understand the reasoning behind it, its only a 99x99 picture after all. But last time i reported it on connect it was just pushed away.
...there used to be a signature here

Make sure you all post about this on Connect. It'll suck if the final version has this.

Will do no good, the program closes in less than 48 hours . Have everyone send it through the Feedback section of Windows Live Messenger.

Does that mean a new public beta in about 48 hours?
I really hope they finally fixed the speed bug when connecting from multiple places... [/offtopic]
Btw, if possible, you might want to try to use an animated gif that has 2 frames of the same image. It won't attempt to compress it (at least I think so)
