i have downloaded wlm 2009 and the new plus which is supposed to work , on the main messenger window all the names are colour and then when i go to chat and i send a message my name comes up in the chatbox with all the codes instead os colour?   I can do screenshots if needed? leave msn address if you want screenshots please

Ok, you have the correct versions.

Have you previously applied any patches, such as A-Patch or Mess Patch? Do you have any other add-ons, or can you think of anything else that could be causing it to do this?

Try going to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. On Messenger Plus! Live,  click the "Change/Remove" button, then choose "Repair Messenger". Follow the instructions to repair Messenger, then see if the problem persists.

still coming up , here is a screenshot , where i have erased where the name should be just above the chat box , that is fine and is in colour , it is just in the chatbox

From what I can see, you do not have Plus! installed.

There are no Plus! buttons in the conversation window or the main window.

Do you have Plus! on the menu, like the screenshot shows?:



If you don't, download Msg Plus! Live 4.79 here.

If you do, go to Add/Remove Programs, uninstall Messenger Plus! Live. Restart your computer, then download and install Messenger Plus! Live 4.79 again.

yip i do , i will try that , will uninstall both plus and messenger and will get back to you

so done what u said , no joy so uninstalled both live plus and wlm restarted my laptop and installed from the links supplied , still no colour name and its not showing me plus buttons on main and chat windows , but have plus! section where file etc is?  there is a screenshot to show the colour is working on the main window but there is no plus icon/button?

Do you have SweetIM or SmileyCentral installed?

These are known to conflict with Plus and cause the problems you are describing

no i havent installed anything like that , still the problem isnt fixed
