Hey,

does anyone know, if or where the animated webcam avatar are saved at the computer?
I tried to search for it, but i only found the background pictures.

Hello, my Windows XP is in spanish but I´ll try to translate the path to the animated avatar correctly. (sorry for my english)

First in spanish:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrador\Configuración local\Datos de programa\Microsoft\Messenger\TU-MAIL\ObjectStore\UserTile

In english:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Program Data*\Microsoft\Messenger\YOUR-EMAIL\ObjectStore\UserTile

*Program Data can also be Application Data (I dont know the exact translation)

-Now, you´ll see a bunch of .ID2 and .DT2 files... you are looking for a .DT2 file

The LARGER (in Kb.) files will be animated avatars made by you with your webcam.

Copy that file and paste it into your desktop, and then change the .dt2 extention to .gif and look if thats the avatar you recorded with your webacam.

Now if you have the "Display Picture Status Changer" script installed under your msnplus, you can modify the .js file included in that script and replace the .jpg extentions to .gif extentions within the code so you can use different animated avatars when your change your messenger status. Have fun with that.
