I have MSN messenger 8.5, and this messenger live plus won't work on it... Any suggestions? Any way that I can make it work? Please help me... It's driving me nutts.

Make sure you have the latest version installed from here

Also, do you have SweetIM, SmileyCentral, Kiwee, GDI++ or ThreatFire installed?

These are all known to be incompatible with Messenger Plus! Live and prevent it from loading properly

Ohhh I bet it's because of the Kiwi thing I installed this afternoon... Also, you know how you get a pop up when you get an IM? Mine have been just appearing like they do when you have your status as busy... Is there a way to fix that?

Yes, I did. Does MSN 8.5 not work anymore? Because mine is now never working properly... Do we really need to download the latest version for MSN to work properly

Yes, it is advisable to download WLM 2009, as 8.5 may soon not be supported at all.....and is already prompting people to update

It's not that parts don't work, it's just that there's a new version and you should always keep up to date with the latest versions of things.

Soon you may be forced to download 2009 anyway, so you might as well download it now

The same way they have in the past.......the old versions will be unable to connect to the network.

What don't you like about the new one?

It's not much different and you'll soon get used to the small changes
