O.P. ERROR CODE 8100030d
gah...this error is driving me nuts – for the simple fact that it has no defined solution!

all of a sudden i was signed out in the middle of a conversation and unable to sign back in, receiving error code 8100030d

i've been searching the web and come across many odd solutions; the one that did it for me, was deleting the following directory

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts

however, this also deleted my personalia, which means my display pic, screen name, personal message and everything was reset, including all of my contacts' dispaly pictures as well

.

the reason i'm adressing this – despite the fact that i resolved it – is because it occurred a second time today, the first encounter being yesterday

in otherwords, i wouldn't be surprised if it happened again tomorrow (grrr)

so can anyone tell me how this directory could be causing this error, and how to avoid it from happening again?

i'm using Windows Live Messenger 2009 Build 14.0.8064.206 with Messenger Plus! Live 4.81.0.358

.

...by any chance, could a possible reason be the use of a japanese character in my screen name, due to a unreasonable incompatability issue with Windows Live Messenger 14.0.8064.206, which was not present in 8.1?

i just recall this character being automatically changed ino a question mark before...which in any case could have prevented this error earlier, until i changed it back again to the japanese character yesterday...

yay for intuitive insights
