Hello
Sorry for the mistakes, but I am french.
I have the last version of Windows Live Messenger version 2009 ( WLM).
I had installed with success MPL).
Further to problems with WLM, I uninstalled it as well as MPL.
But, MPL does not display any more in the WLM.
I am sure to have the last versions.
I followed the recommendations on this site about the software which are not compatible with MPL, software which I did not have.
An help would be welcome.

J'ai la dernière version de Windows Live Messenger version 2009 (WLM).
J'avais installé avec succés Messenger Plus! Live (MPL).
Suite à des problèmes avec WLM, je l'ai désinstallé ainsi que MPL et un coup de Ccleaner au passage, puis tout réinstallé.
Mais, MPL ne s'affiche plus dans la WLM.
Je suis sûr d'avoir les dernières versions.
J'ai suivi les recommandations sur ce site à propos des logiciels qui n'étaient pas compatibles avec MPL, logiciels que je n'avais pas.
Et maintenant, je sèche.
Un coup de main serait le bienvenu.

Please post screenshots of your Add/Remove Programs (Programs & Features on Vista) so that we can find any incompatible programs

From my side, I try this :
1) Uninstall WLM and MPL
2) Install WLM 8.1 and MPL last version  => all is OK
3) Reboot => all is OK
4) Install WLM 8.5 => all is OK
5) Reboot => MPL is not present in WLM.

Can you explain  me why ?

I have done the same tests with the 4.80 version of  MessengerPlus!Live, but I have the same problems.

Would there be a link with my antivirus, because I noticed that it detected a problem when I run the uninstall MPL.
What do you think? For information, I have Panda Internet Security 2008.

N'y aurait-il pas un lien avec mon antivirus, car, à force de désinstaller/réinstaller, j'ai remarqué qu'il me détectait un problème que je lançais la désinstallation de MPL.

You could indeed try to disable your AV and try to reinstall Plus! again. Can you confirm you're not using any other addon as well? (like Messenger Discovery or Smiley Central).

Yes I confirm I don't use any other addons.
And I disable my AV, but it doesn't work.

What I do exactly :
1) Disable my AntiVirus
2) Uninstall MPL and WLM 8.1
3) Reboot my computer
4) CCleaner to clean files and register
5) Reboot my computer
6) Disable my AntiVirus
7) Install WLM 2009 - login on my account OK
8) Reboot my computer
9) Disable my AntiVirus
10) Install MPL 4.81 (without the sponsor)
11) Start WLM  ==> MPL not in WLM
12) Reboot my computer
13) Disable my AntiVirus
14) Start WLM  ==> MPL not in WLM
--------------------------------------------------
15) Reboot (AntiVirus enable)
16) Uninstall MPL and WLM
17) Install WLM 8.1 and MPL 4.81
18) Reboot my computer
19) Start WLM  ==> MPL in WLM

hey guys i have the same problem!

i tried to troubleshoot the problem but i couldnt and i must admit thats rather weird...

the main symptoms of this is that although plus appears to be running normally with WLM, in the main window of WLM the plus button is disappeared. Also, skins dont work at all. Note that the skins i use are compatible with WLM 2009 (wave 3) that i have and i also have installed the latest versions of WLM and MPL.

what i found out after some testing is that if u enable a skin that also alters the shape of the main WLM window, for example the transformers skins,what happens is that WLM takes the shape of the skin but the colours/textures and GUI of it dont work and as a result WLM becomes a mess...

but the most weird thing is this: sometimes it works while others it doesnt and at the same time!
let me explain what i mean..
since i have two accounts on msn i use the plus feature of using multiple WLM accounts, so what happened to me once (after weeks of having this problem) is that the 1st WLM i opened worked perfectly, my skin was enabled, i logged in and the MPL button was where it was supposed to be and then i opened another WLM to log into my 2nd account and the 2nd WLM was skinless and with the MPL button missing!!!
that made me believe that this problem might be a totally random bug appearing at random times...

i dont know what else to suggest...
any further help on this will be appreciated..

P.S. this happens on my Vista machine and on my other Windows 7 machine. on my WinXP machine WLM and MPL are working perfectly...

I am also using WLM version 2009, build 14.0.5027.908
after installing the latest version of MPL. and restarting, it does not appear on WLM.

I've checked to ensure that I do not have any of the programs mentioned that might conflict.

would appreciate some help.
