O.P. Messenger Lock sometimes doesn't restore original status after unlocking
Since I started to work in an office, I have been using the messenger lock function a lot. I configured it as such.

  1. Locking and Unlocking is done with shortcuts.
  2. I send messages upon locking and unlocking to open chats.
  3. Systray icon is changed while locking.
  4. My status is changed to a preset personalized status.
    • Personalized status has the name tag Kilitli which means Locked
    • The status is changed to Busy
    • There are some auto-responder messages
  5. Unlocking requires a password.
  6. Systray icon tooltip and menu are disabled.

However sometimes when I unlock it, my personalized status doesn't revert back to the one before locking. My name tag remains there and my status remains as Busy. When I open Personaized Status window, it looks like no personalized status has been set yet. One interesting thing is the icon in systray after unlocking reflects the Available status icon although my status is shown as Busy in contact list and conversation windows. I don't know a way to reproduce this but I encounter this problem frequently. I have to change my status to the original one manually after unlocking. Also the Event Viewer doesn't record a name or status change after unlocking when this problem occurs.

Thank you very much for all those details. I'll definitively do my best to find this problem.

This occured again and I took a screenshot of the event viewer including two locking and unlocking processes. Note that the first lock&unlock process worked successfully, however after locking it second time, unlocking didn't restore my original status and name. But the systray icon indicates the Available status now although my status is still Busy.

I hope you can understand the events from the icons under Saat (Time) column.

RE: Messenger Lock sometimes doesn't restore original status after unlocking
This is somewhat similar, but under Windows 7 if Plus! is locked and a personalized status is initiated, when WLM is unlocked the personalized status will remain in the permanent WLM entry of WLM in the Windows 7 taskbar - i.e. the thing that remains even if all conversation and contact list windows are closed, and when hovered over your display picture appears.

Typing /online or trying to change the status to online using any other method does not change the status in the taskbar area. However, if the status is then changed to a different status, i.e. Away, the taskbar changes to away, and when the status is changed back to online, the taskbar will change back to online, thus restoring order. However if I lock WLM again, the problem will resurface.
