I have read some of the threads saying that they were not able to import the skins, and the solutions were that we have to install the compatible windows live in order to have it.

But may I know like for example, is there any website I can download msn 8.5 as nowadays, all the websites are actually providing the latest msn only?

Hello, go to mess.be, go to the bottom new's page, click "Browse the complete news archives" and go to the "The week of November 04 (2007)" and you will find WLM 8.5.1302.1018 in 8 languages. (those on rapidshare)

do have anything from the 2009 suite? (Photo gallery, messenger, mail)
If you do uninstall all of them and try.

http://random.menthix.net/windows_live/Windows_Li...ne%20MSI/wlm85.msi Is WLM 8.5 standalone. Might work for you. Although I don't recommend running older Messenger versions.
