I use a mac but my friend is on a windows laptop.  Everytime I chat with her on Messenger, a link is sent to me instead of what she is typing>

Any ideas what I should get her to do.  She has deleted her messenger program and re-installed. 

As my name implies, I am not very knowledgeable, so any help gratefully received

First make sure there are no viruses on her PC. Run a good virusscanner.

Once the PC is clean, have her change her password and secret question on http://account.live.com/.

You might want to remove that link so others don't accidentally click it and get into trouble.

She has McAfee, which she has already run.

I have suggested changing password etc.
