hi ,

i ve been trying to add ....@live.com to my windows live msn, but i keep getting

an error, : This windows live service isn't available right now, but we'll add *contact* to your contacts as soon as the service is available again.


i m running the latest version of messenger under vista 64

anyone can help?

Have you tried re-starting your computer?  I used to get this error sometimes and re-starting my computer would make it go away.

Also, if you wait a few minutes/hours/days then does the contact get added to your list properly?  (so that you are able to talk to them)

i ve restarted and added the contact for over week, but no good,
i ll try removing msn completely and see if it works, otherwise any other
ideas?

Uninstalling it may not work. If you check your Application Event Log, it will likely see Event ID 447 (Database corruption), referencing <your profile path>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts\{xxxxx}.

Take note of the path. Exit Messenger. Then in Windows Eplorer, delete the indicated folder {xxxxx}. Start Messenger, it should re-build your contact db.

im having problems with adding new contacts. everytime i add a new contact it would say tht my contact doesnt use messenger yet eventhou they're using it the very moment.

besides that, when my fren said they added me but i just couldnt approve them cause theres no request alert. any help? =\

this is my problem too!!
this happened to me after i updated my windows live to the latest version.
i hate this update. it ruined my contacts, i cant add contacts and some of my old contact from the previous version were gone.

is there any technical support that can help us??

im starting to think that this update is actually fail, to see many other users get the same bug

i should'n t have updated but the update was forcing me to do so or else it wont let me use windows live. what a lame system indeed. im so dissapointed

1. Pick your Windows Live Messenger version.

this did'nt work for me. its been a long while now.
is there already a solution for the 'can't add contacts problem?
please tell me if there is because i havent been able to use my MSN since the last update
