O.P. annoying things on messenger

Didn't know where to post this topic. But anyways,
what are things on messenger that bother you?

When people use a load of custom emoticons & don't give them proper shortcuts, so they always pop up in between sentences. and they don't seem to mind. It bothers me a lot, I tell them to change it or I'll delete them. haha.

People who change their display name to long messy crap.
I like to keep it simple, just a name will suffice.
So I have to give everyone on my contact list  a nickname..

(y)@thread subject

------------------------------------------------

GUI
===

- The small (useless) window that constantly pops up when you hover over a contact in the contact list in WLM9.

- The double click on categories opens up the 'Edit Category' panel. It is quite easy to forget you only need to click once to open a category in WLM9

- smaller stuff I can live with...

OTHER
=====
- Indeed some of the long contact names people use and constantly changing them so you never know who they are. Yet I still want to see what they have as a contact name, so the nickname feature of WLM is not usable. (custom contact names FTW!)

Hey peepz,

Keep this thread clean and serious please.
Just sum up the annoying stuff in Messenger and in Messenger Plus!.

Thus not too much "you can do this/that with this/that" replies.
We know you can solve a lot with scripts or skins, but that is besides the point of this thread. But do make sure, when you post some annoyence, that it realy is unfixable with a Messenger setting (too many times people 'hate' something but forget there is actually an option for it or something).

The reason I request this is because this thread will be very usefull in the future as it is.
Too much spam or 'unneeded' posts is not so handy in that case...

thankies ;)

The fact that emoticons "render" inside text - the shoud only appear when the shortcut text is isolated by spaces.

Contacts

Long really weird and colored names with constant changes
People who abuse of Hopper Live
Update of avatars automatically controled. (It doesn't update when I want and updates when I don't want to.)

GUI

Avatars are too small (am I the only one who'd love the avatar as a "background" to the chat history? But an option for extra-extra-extra-large avatars would be neat.)
Ads that roll up and fills the whole screen when you accidentally hover them (skins FTW)
Category edit window when double clicked (If I wanted to edit it, I'd right click and select edit, or something like that, as in the rest of the system)
You can't use your own scene for yourself to see in chat windows
Barely no control over layout (skins ftw)

And too tired to think of more things :chrongue: been doing school exams for the whole day
