I've had Messenger Plus! for the last two months without any problems. But then I restarted my computer this evening and Windows Live started up and acted as if Messenger Plus! did exist. I tried everything remotely feasible.

I uninstalled Messenger Plus! and then reinstalled it.

I uninstalled both Messenger Plus! and Windows Live, restarted and reinstalled both.

I uninstalled both Messenger Plus! and Windows Live, had it remove personal settings, restarted, completely erased any file originally placed by either and cleaned out my registry and the reinstalled again.

After that last attempt I actually got the Start up wizard for Messenger Plus! but nothing happened from it. It almost seems to me like Windows Live did some sneaky update and blocked Messenger Plus! from doing anything with the messenger.

If anyone has any suggestions on what could help that would be great.

Well ok yeah, I use PC Tools Spyware Dr w/ Antivirus, but didn't have a problem until last night. I've used Spyware Dr for a long time actually.

Perhaps you guys should goto http://www.pctools.com/mrc/dispute/ and get yourselves removed from their malware list. Unless of course you really are up to something fishy hidden under there.

I can ensure you Messenger Plus! Live is not Malware or in anyway malicious.

PC Tools Spyware probably class Messenger Plus! Live as "Adware" as it used to be bundled with an optional non-malicious adware sponsor.

Patchou may seek to have Messenger Plus! Live removed from the block list by PC Tools Spyware, but in the mean time, if you wish to use Messenger Plus! Live then I suggest using a different anti virus/spyware problem like Microsoft Security Essentials, Avast or Malwarebytes
