Well up until today i've been able to send and receive text messages from my contacts. But now whenever i try to send it to them it says;

*This message was not sent. To send messages to a mobile device, you must first buy mobile messages. ^Buy now.^

What does this mean? cause i clicked on the link where it said to buy and it took my to a site where i had to register my phone, so i did so and all that was for was to download Windows live for my phone -.-

So i cant "buy" anything because there is nothing there to buy that would allow me to send text messages to my contacts.

Anyone else have this problem? I've tried redownloading windows live but for some completely stupid reason every time i download it no matter what version it says, its always the new 2010 version, which is really starting to get on my nerves. Anyone else having this problem?

It's always been like that, I believe.

I usually right click > send offline message instead.

So you're saying you've been able to send free text messages to all your contacts mobiles?

Yeah as long as i can remember i've always been able to send mobile text messages to my contacts. my friends have been able to, but this morning it started to tell me to buy it? it was working fine last night but this morning it randomly stopped working

It's always cost to send text messages as far as I'm aware, so I guess you was lucky.

They found out? I'm not too sure tbh. I Google'd it and it appears you can sometimes send SMS for free to contacts.

Have you tried logging in on a different computer and trying? If not, do so.

i tryed signing into another computer and its the same thing.

In which case there's nothing you can fix on your computer, it's tied to your account.

Ask on the Solution Centre and the Windows Live support team should be able to answer you.

well ummm.. it works again? well thanks for the imput anyways but its back and works fine again, for free to.

as far as i know SMS'ing with WLM you have had to Pay for it,
