When a user has set the "away" option in their profile, and they are offline, an icon will be shown for their status next to their posts:

Would you rather have it shown in text? For example:

Status: Offline
Status: Online
Status: Away

For consistency, I think it would be better to have words for all three of them. And another very wise remark has already been made too:

"text", and it doesn't need a link actually like it is on the current image, as you can click on the persons name...

You should have made it a multi-selection poll... I'm stuck between "text" and "Who cares"

But I voted "text" cos I think that's better.  How about a dark red for the colour?  Or a slightly reddish grey (careful it doesn't go pink )  I think black and bold just looks to important, more active than "Offline" when it should be less.

Blah... it's hard not to go pink...

How about we switch the "offline" and "away" colors?

I mean, offline and away both indicate the person is not there, and therefore gray would be good. You could use a different kind of grey to indicate the difference.

Red draws my attention more than green, while I believe online is more important than offline
