This only seems to happen when renaming a contact using the Right Click > Messenger Plus! Extras > Rename Contact...

If you try to rename a contact who is apart of the Mobile group Plus! freezes and so does MSN Messenger but when you restart MSN Messenger the name has been set.

Windows Version: Windows XP, 5.01.2600
Messenger Client Version: 7.0.0332 (Offical Beta Tester)
Messenger Plus! Version: 3.40.0107

It appears to be a 3.40.0107 bug only. I just tried it on 3.25.0106 with 6.2.0137 and it works fine.

When Custom nicknames is on, theres no emoticons in the nick
just the shortcut, even for those ppl not renamed

That's normal, it's a limitation of custom names.

No it is not a bug. A bug is something that goes wrong or something that you didn't anticipated to do.

A limitation is something which you can't work around because it is the way things work.

Remember that Messenger Plus! can't be compared to standalone programs which can do all the things the programmer wants. Messenger Plus! highly depends on MSN Messenger and its objects/controls. If those objects/controls don't allow something, then Patchou can't do anything about it.

If custom names are used, then MSN Messenger is actually showing email adresses. And in email adresses there are no emoticons, so MSN Messenger does not perform the procedure to convert emoticons to actual pictures. The only thing that patchou can do is instead of showing the emailadres, showing another text (thus the custom name); the converting emoticons to pictures, is done by MSN Messenger itself.

Im using Mgr Plus version 3.25.106 and MSN Version 6.2.0137.

When I use custom names the order is wrong.
It orders people by email address instead of custom name.
Can anything be done about this?

It works fine with 3.40.109 too, and probably with 3.40.110.
