You are a little lacking on the graphics card side, but it should display ok. You might not be able to use a very good resolution though.

RE: Half Life 2
Would it run nicely for me, cause i might be getting this and/or doom 3:

Specs
Operating System: [ Windows XP  ]
Space: [ 53.28GB / 71.17GB ]
Ram Usage: [ 176MB / 511MB ]
CPU Info: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2600+
CPU Speed: 2131 mHz
Screen Res: 1024x768
Video Card: ATi Radeon 9000
Sound: Avance AC97 Audio

anyone have any suggestions for any other good games that would run on these specs nicely...

I know that the resolution doesn't need to be there, but I copied and pasted it from my quicktext so its going to stay there :p.

For everything else but the graphics card it should be going well, smooth and with a decent resolution. But I doubt your card (and traxors) can take profit of all DirectX9 effects. It's very possible you have to set the details lower, but I don't think there's much problem in playing it, though. (My card is a 9600Pro and I'm playing it with all filters and high details on 1024x768 @ 30-40fps. Doom 3 works better than HL2 on this machine, it doesn't require that good graphics.

yeah i have Half Life 2 and those specs will run it fine on a good res. yeah the graphics card isnt great but the scalibility in game is good enough that this wont be a problem.
the most important spec there is your broadband because, as you may or may not know Half Life 2 requires Steam and a Internet connection to run. Although Valve say that Steam will work on 56k i have read on the Steam forums at www.steampowered.com which is the official site that people using 56k have had a highly unsatisfactory experience with the authentication process and the general use of Steam. you may have also heard that you can run Steam in offline mode and while this is in theory true in practice many people have to sign in due to error and bugs and so must connect to the internet.
without knowing whether you plan to buy the steam or retail version it is hard to tell what kind of experience you should expect. please post this info.

well my PC is P4 2.6ghz, 256mb ram, XP and i use a FX5200 overclocked to Ultra so and i run it pretty ok so hmmm my card is 128mb so i dunno how a 64mb would fare.
Let me guess, you picked out yet another colorful box with a crank that I'm expected to turn and turn until OOP! big shock, a jack pops out and you laugh and the kids laugh and the dog laughs and I die a little inside.

I have a 64 mb GeFoce 2 MX card on this PC and Counter-Strike: Source Beta ran fine on it (which it on the Half-Life 2 engine). I'm getting a new PC very very soon though.

yeah i have hl2 and it runs fine on my computer on 1024 res with all graphics on high except for antialising :P!
i only have a AMD XP2000+
768 ddr ram
R 9600Pro
Cs source is a completley different story, while completely playable, half life 2 which has alot more effects/graphics then css runs better then it. css is good alot of bugs fixed in last nights update, but still needs a little more work! anyways HL2DM rules :D :refuck:

My friend has a R9200 and similiar other specs to you saralk, he had his res on 800*600 and had everything else on high except antialising as before and he said his ran fine!
Segosa is newb.
