O.P. Cleartype?
In win xp under apperance >effects theres a choice of cleartype or standard is cleartype for an lcd screen?

Well kinda. It's recommended for LCD screens but it also looks quite good on CRT displays.

tbh, it doesn't really look that good on my LCD screen, but try it on yours :P

Well, its looks kinda blurry on mine... *-)
It might just be my screen that makes it look blurry, but hey, some people seem to like it.

From what I can remember clear type is really ment for laptops but can also be used on some PCs with LCD screens.

If you use the one thats on the actual windows xp site, its really good, I use it, and the fonts are really crisp, it also has good management for how clear you want the font to be, the tweaks can be found here:

simply install, then whenever you want to change the quality of fonts, there is a icon in control panel that says 'ClearType Tuning'
