O.P. Undecided  Recording
Well here's the problem/dilema

Soundblaster Live! sound card, logitech quickcam zoom with inbuilt microphone and various creative apps

I wanna record phone calls from voip buster

I want the person on the end of the phone to hear music or whatever from my pc (for example an online soundboard) but not to hear me through the microphone (clicking mouse and typing on keyboard for instance) This i've managed

however i want to record what they hear basically

So just the noise from my soundboard and their voice not my inbuilt microphone

I set recorders to 'what u hear' with my microphone levels turned right down but it still picks up my microphone

Anyone got any ideas?

(I did have the idea of pluging in my old desktop mic configuring that as the default mic and just flicking the off switch on top however i don't really want to do that as my webcam/microphone is great)

Would love help on this :)

RE: Recording "what you hear" (from computer but not microphone)
Volume Options > File > Options > Recording Options > Check 'Sterio Mix' and turn that up > Start, Run, sndmgr32 > Hit record

RE: Recording
"Stereo Mix" can also be "Wave", "Wave Out Mix", "What U Hear" or similarly labelled sources (the actual name depends highly on the sound card and driver). If none of these are listed, start recording, then try selecting each source until you find the one that works.

------------------------------------

However, some sound cards do not have any way of internally recording the audio directly while it is also internally playing something (aka "duplex"). But in that case, chances are that your sound card is capable of outputting something externally (speakers) while it can record from an external source (mic, line-in).

If this is the case, you will need to buy or make a short stereo splitter cable to connect the sound card's output (green) to its Line-in (blue), then select "Line" as the source.

easy temporarly solution (you need to disconnect the speakers, thus you wont physically hear a thing)

or

permanent solution, no need to disconnect the speakers each time

Only very old cards are also not capable of doing this; they can only do 1 thing at the time.
(and I mean old as in almost extinct)
