Why is it every time when i right-click onto the emoticon to add into my emoticon collection from the conversation window, I am always given this prompt: "The file you selected is not a valid file. Please choose another file." ?

I always have to keep trying for about 10 times or more in order to be able to add emoticons without any problems. After the 10 times or more tries, the prompt will not appear again. It will appear whenever I launch my MSN Messenger and trying to add an emoticon the first time from every first launch.

Where are you getting the emoticons from?

Have been getting them from the conversation windows of my friends', when chatting with them.

If its from your friend they may have a program that you dont to allow variable image types. So your msn may not allow the file type that those images are.

you cant copy ones from sherv net if your friend displays them..u have to download them in groups..

But the strange thing is I'm able to add them after 10-20 tries.. after these tries, I'm able to add them without getting that prompt (that is until I re-launch my Messenger).

So do u guys mean that theres no solution to this problem? Cos if thats the case, I will just continue with the routine - trying n trying n trying..

I have the same problem and no mather how many times i try it won't accept it.
I have stuff plug ng which is supposed to allow any size graphic or pic into your msn and i cannot add even 7 kb, nor can i add this smilie just for excample:

I'm totally crazy about smilies and..graphics..i love glitters and used to add good size glitter words to msn but not only tiny ones are accepted IF i'm lucky..which is about 10% of the time..HELP!

I saved that emoticon to my hard drive, and added it without problems. I have SPNG with the emoticon size thing enabled, so it isn't an SPNG problem.
