Hello,

whenever I start Windos Live Messenger with MP!L it will not connect automatically and always gives me an error code 84cb0009 saying that there was an error while connecting and that the service is termporarly unavailable. When I click on Repeat it connects without a problem.

It is no big error but it is still quite annoying. It happend with any version of Messenger Plus! Live I have been using so far. Disabling scripts and using an unpatched WLM (usually I patch it with Mess Patch) does not help. So far I have to uninstall MP!L to get rid of this error. However I like this program a lot so I was wondering if there is any other solution I should consider?

That's pretty strange... anybody ever exprienced the same issue?

I have had a few service is temporarily unavailable but I figured it was just the servers and never reported it during the beta.

I uninstalled MP!L once again and again WLM connects like charme on startup. I guess when there is a major upgrade available either of WLM or of MP!L I will give it another try. Thanks anyway.

just a small update on this old bug. I'm now using WLM 8.5 and MP!L 4.7 and it's still the same error message on startup. Any new thoughts on this?

another update: now I'm using WLM 2009 (Build 14.0.8064.206) and MP!L 4.81.0.358 and I still have the same issue. Is there really no solution to this which doesn't involve uninstalling MP!L?

I finally found a hint to what might cause this behavior: whenever I have any script installed (it does not even have to be activated!) this error occurs. After removing all scripts WLM will connect fine on start-up also with MP!L installed. It is a pity though, I really liked the script option.
