O.P. Undecided  Messenger Plus chat log decryption problem -about encryption bit size-
hey all
i was logging my conversations since 2008
i tried to decrypt some of my logs i got error message "An error occurred while trying to decrypt your file. Please reboot or try again on another computer."
i think the error is about encryption size cuz i didnt encrypt these files the size 640
the size starts with "8" but i cant remember the rest of number and there is no size option "8xx" there are just 384-640-1024-2048 options
so anybody remembers that option the key size? sry for my english and plz help me :|

The key size is only used when new files are encrypted so you can be sure this is not an issue. Did you try reinstalling Messenger Plus! and rebooting your computer? if so, could you try on a different computer and see if it works?

There is no such option in Messenger Plus! unfortunately, never was. Can you email me one of your logs with your password? I'll work on this problem with you: mplus-support@patchou.com .

Quick update for everybody else: like it happened before, the problem of that user was a corrupted log file (apprently caused when the files were burnt on a CD). If that happens to you and you know how to use command line options, Messenger Plus! can allow you to recover at least part of the damaged filed.

All you need to do is to launch "Log Viewer.exe" from the Messenger Plus! directory with those two command lines:
"Log Viewer.exe" /Decrypt="File.ple" /Partial

The "/Partial" parameter instructs Messenger Plus! to try its best and generate a file even if an error occurs.
