RE: fake or real email?
Lots of businesses include IP address that they suspect weren't yours, but your other two points are very strong. I an definite that this email is a fraud. Notice that the email doesn't greet you with your name, and the bank certainly knows it, sin...

RE: is this possible with a script?
It's possible. Scripts can get and change DPs. I don't know if the image manipulation can be done from inside a script, or if a helper program will be needed (as "Something very similar" suggests), but I think that a helper will be needed.

RE: Adobe Audition 1.5 Help
I don't know about Adobe Audition, but Audacity has an option called Software Playthrough in its audio I/O preferences.

RE: Recover datas in CDs.
Cheap disks go bad by themselves. They can be fine the day that you burn them, and for that week, but just rot (or warp) over time.

RE: Problem with Maxthon
Check your text size in Internet Explorer (View menu). Also try adjusting your default styles (Internet Options, probably not the cause or remedy).

RE: Recover datas in CDs.
Burning speed is unrelated to reading speed (unless the burn was too fast to work properly on cheap media, then reading will be very slow or not happening on any device, because the disk is just bad). Try IsoBuster[/url...

RE: MSN Messenger Crash Report
If you have error reporting enabled (default) in Windows, when Messenger (or any other program) crashes (and Windows detects the fault), Windows will create an error report and offer to send it to Microsoft. Example (for Internet Explorer): [img=418x...

RE: Is there a PHP code for this?
I'd just but a big image as the backgroud, and if a user has their browser window smaller (or as big as it goes, but their screen resolution is low), let the image be cropped. You should be able to see most of the image, and you can't detect the ex...

RE: Best Linux distro for a low end machine
A web-based distro-finder tool recomended SUSE (I don't know how the capitals should be) to me for my old computer. It also recomended some other distros, but listed as their disadvantages that my "computer may be too slow", while it didn't say t...

RE: Can an ISO burn itself?
You could put a burning program like that on the CD, that will copy the CD it's on, and the new CD will have the program on it then, the same as the original.

RE: Scripting Contest + Messenger Plus! Live 4.11
I expect that the reason for the contest is to kick start script developers. If you have a plugin as a DLL and will just implement the features of that through a script, with workarounds to make it scripting compatible, I don't think that it would ...

RE: Dummy program
That's what I wanted it for. Bloody cheap WLM not with an option to disable virus scanning and still use easy transfers. Also, I don't want to make one myself (mainly because I can't), so that's perfect. Thanks everybody!

Dummy program
Does anybody know how I can make a program for Windows XP that does nothing but exit as soon as it is launched? I don't want it to be visible, and I want it to be fast.

RE: Need suggestion about buying a mp3 player
If you want video playback, get a PSP, they're not very cheap though (at least in Australia). Sandisk Sansa players (e200 series) seem nice, I've never used an e200 though (I've tried older ones). Will play whatever music, and just put on the USB ...

RE: Good deal or not?
Reviews don't really mean much, listen to the speakers yourself. I don't think that they're that great. If you have decent speakers now, I wouldn't bother, unless they could be useful with other stuff. If you have "Multi-Media" speakers now, g...

RE: server specs
I'd go for the 1.8 GHz one, but it is twice the cost. The extra processing power can be put to use doing stuff like file verification/(de)compression/video compression (but that will take ages on only 1.8 GHZ, though it won't bother you on the serv...

RE: laptop batteries
Keep it in + what Adeptus said + the laptop should know when to charge and when to not charge (or only charge with a very small current/trickle charge) by itself, thus making it beter to leave it in than take it out. Cold is the killer of batteries, ...

RE: Formula to calculate days lived?
Yep, well, we need a decimal calendar (metric means based on the metre). Problem is, days and years are both determined by Earth's movement. You can't make up an arbitary unit like the metre, a year has 365 days (and a bit), that's just the way it...
