RE: Windows Live Messneger 9.0: New Beta
Admittedly, it doesn't appear to be, although I hear the final version will. I guess it's what I get for posting early in the morning. Either way, I think it still looks much sweeter than 8.5, even on XP.

RE: Windows Live Messneger 9.0: New Beta
Uh well actually, WPF is part of .NET 3 and is available for Windows XP SP2+ - I am running this beta on some of my machines and I have to say it looks pretty sweet.

RE: How old is your PC?
Wow, so like: Eee 901 - 2 months old. Also has 2gb rather than 1gb of RAM. Desktop A - Pentium Dual Core E2160 @ 2.40GHz; 2GB DDR2 800 RAM; 500GB Spinpoint F1; nVidia 8500GT - 6 months old. Desktop B - No motherboard / processor yet; 6GB DDR3 RAM (3x...

RE: Windows update SP3
If you're gonna reinstall Windows it's better to slipstream the service pack into your install media rather than installing the OS then the service pack, although it does mean you'll be unable to uninstall the SP. It generally saves a bunch of dis...

RE: Which one?
Several things: 1) It does not have two graphics card - it has one. The Intel thing is a built in chipset and hence is not actually a graphis card 2) You have to reboot to switch modes, which is a pain in the arse (my HP has this "feature") - espe...

Yeah that was the one, ta for fix. I have to admit I did not realise I was using a non-standard theme. :)

RE: Budget Quad Core
Four slots, 4GB maximum per slot, so 16GB total. It's DDR2 so I would recommend 1066MHz. Unbuffered Non-ECC, in case you're curious. Double check the manual - you can download it from Asus's website.

RE: Budget Quad Core
The Core 2 Q6600 is by far and away the best Quad Core on the price performance market at this current time, but is in general not quite as fast as the AMD Phenom 9600... which I think it a bit more expensive (and the Phenoms which aren't xx50's ar...

RE: Which one?
I have to point out, that buying any sort of high end Intel processor at this point is silly what with Nehalem coming out in October / November... =\ And rated battery life is never correct. With the power draw that that laptop will have, you'll be...

RE: Firefox ram and cpu usage !
Using adblock on that first turkish page you linked knocks my memory usage down to 71k-kb for it. Same with the second. That is from 84k-kb with those open, and 62k-kb with them closed. Edit: I would also point out that Chrome's task manager notices...

I agree, that desk is pretty smart. I want one like it, unfortunately my room isn't big enough. :)

A 9800GT is just an 8800GT with triple SLI support. All I will say on the matter.

Admittedly, I did do that while drunk, hence appreciated isn't spelled correctly. ;) Still, if there are no spelling suggestions there should be an "Add to Dictionary" button like Firefox has.

RE: Google Chrome
You're all wrong. From the perspective of a drunk, you should be using Alt + Home for your home page by now anyway. Anyone who uses a mouse is just nooby. :) (Although we do appriceiate the input of noobs). One thing I have found with Chrome: it has...

I am not sure. I think it looks pretty damned neat, but I will miss my foxmarks. I definitely agree with the fact that it will probably eat more of Firefox's share than IE's - mainly because most tech savvy people use Firefox, and hence will look a...
