RE: Windows Explorer alternative (suggestions?)
I had been looking for an alternative for about a year. Pretty much, I just wanted Windows Explorer with tabs and a bit extra. I tried everything. Then after seeing a link to it in another forum I found [URL=http://quizo.at.infoseek.co.jp/freeware/in...

RE: Digg?
It did change Diggs mind. I didn't exactly like the way they did it (the users) but I am sick of people succumbing to these big companies. Three freeware twos have been killed off, two weren't even to do with removing the copy-protection and all th...

RE: Stop stealing?
Messenger Discovery has this feature which prevents the other person from right clicking on the emoticon and adding it.

RE: Outrageous
You can always say guns don't kill people, people do. But do we really need automatic weapons sold to citizens? I know in Australia after the Port Arthur Massacre there was a near complete ban on all semi-automatic rifles and shotguns, and all pump-...

RE: Outrageous
The first thing I thought of when I heard about this was, "Why couldn't he just commit suicide or get help instead of doing something as radical as this?" I wonder how much they'll beef up the security there as my girlfriends friend is going ther...

RE: [MAJOR UPDATE] IPGet v1.50 - lots of new features + Vista compatibility
No wantowan2. Your IP is your calling card so when it makes a direct connection with the other computer, they will know by using this program or by other means. What are you worried about?

RE: Burn .avi to DVD
I suppose I didn't make myself clear. They were captured from high definition streams :P

RE: Burn .avi to DVD
I am bothered by crappy quality. So far from what I've seen the encoder can be improved on immensly. All in all, if you're happy with the conversion then good for you. I personally would only use it for temp jobs. :)

RE: delete programs through windows explorer
If you cannot uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs or by running its uninstall program, then simply re-install it over the top. Then try doing whatever you need to do.

RE: Burn .avi to DVD
4 hours of video, DVD material, onto a single layer disc without an issue? Give me a break. And TV quality you don't lose? Who doesn't know what around here? Lets say this, I am very picky when it comes to the quality of my compressed DVDs. You ma...

RE: Burn .avi to DVD
Some encoders can have that problem. It depends on a few things. It could be a bug of the encoder or if you use filters, how many filters, how you process the files for the encoder etc etc. All encoders/transcoders will reduce quality to make the vi...

RE: Burn .avi to DVD
I would trust HCenc more than the encoder in ConvertXtoDVD. Plus it's free!

Yes Steven. Make sure VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS are there, not DVD_01_1.

RE: Safe trusted AVI TO ISO CONVERTER..
Of course I have. It's the best image creater/burner program around. Or use free programs which would probably do a better job. http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=733 73&pid=806276#pid806276

RE: avi/wmv (not needed, but maybe mov) to flv?
Re-encoding to any other format will always create quality loss.

RE: Burn .avi to DVD
I hardly ever do AVI > DVD but when I do, it's temporary. So this tool, FAVC[/UR L] does the job nice using HCenc as the encoder. I've also heard AVI2DVD...

RE: Attachments?
Those files aren't too big. So why not ask the person who sent them to zip them up and re-send it? It would save all this hassle. A lot quicker!!!

It sounded to me as if it was his parents. I didn't want to shoot myself in the foot. As I said before, you're allowed to backup movies you own. But this thread has moved away from its original topic. Shall we get back to it?
