The future of Messenger Plus!
What is the long-term plan for Messenger Plus! following the news that Windows Live Messenger is being discontinued in favour of Skype by the end of this year / spring next year? With this in mind, why not use this thread as a place to give out Twitt...

100,000 members or not this community has still gone downhill completely. It's shit.

RE: R.I.P Phillip
That's horrible, really sorry to hear it. I hope everyone in his family are coping okay.

RE: Feedback about latest website design
Exactly. It seems like it's been done by someone who has a small amount of knowledge of building websites.

RE: Feedback about latest website design
I wouldn't say it was perfect, but it was fifty times better than the current site. Not only is the current site ugly and poorly coded, but it's difficult to use, clunky and has had no thought put to the information architecture. It makes me angry...

RE: Feedback about latest website design
It's awful. The design and front-end development has had very little thought. If this is the best quality work they can produce, I dread to think what Messenger Plus! will be like in twelve months time. I could do a better job of that website with m...

RE: Old site?
They should really set up 301 redirects rather than just removing those domains. They'll lose a hell of a lot of link juice which that definitely already have from places like CNET.

RE: Yuna: Poor front-end development on Messenger Plus! 5 Website
I suppose my passion can sometimes be misinterpreted as arrogance and things being blown out of proportion.

RE: Website not working in a lot of places.
It's something to do with this: Yuna: Poor front-end development on Messenger Plus! 5 Website. According to Cookie, they're "doing what they can". (Although, that'd extend to back-e...

RE: Yuna: Poor front-end development on Messenger Plus! 5 Website
People agree with me, nobody from Yuna has said anything about it. Messenger Plus! has always been a group effort. Not just the application, but the website, forum, plugins, skins etc. That's disappearing. It's getting worse. This has gone from a ...

RE: Yuna: Poor front-end development on Messenger Plus! 5 Website
Honestly, I was hoping for a public response. We haven't had any confirmation that Yuna won't continue the public discussions about what they're doing to fix things etc, so I'd either like them to tell us that this is no longer about the communi...

RE: Plus! 5 is out!
It's funny that the "test version" of the website is so similar to the live version. Good work, Yuna.

RE: Yuna: Poor front-end development on Messenger Plus! 5 Website
Yep, it looks like a very old website. No offence intended to the creative director or the person who designed it, but it looks very similar to the sorts of designs I was producing when I had very little experience and just didn't care about the sm...

RE: Yuna: Poor front-end development on Messenger Plus! 5 Website
Yep, and I completely agree with you. Like I said in the PM, I was a little blase in mentioning WordPress. I think ExpressionEngine would be a bit more suitable.

RE: Yuna: Poor front-end development on Messenger Plus! 5 Website
WordPress used to be a blogging platform but it isn't anymore, there's no reason why people can't use it to power their website. Most of the people I know are either using WordPress or ExpressionEngine to power their website. Plus the odd one or ...

RE: Yuna: Poor front-end development on Messenger Plus! 5 Website
What security exploits are there? If I was worried that my developers couldn't handle a security fix, I'd opt for a license CMS such as ExpressionEngine. That thing is tight. Edit: Added response to Thor!!

RE: Yuna: Poor front-end development on Messenger Plus! 5 Website
I've revised the title of the topic as it was rather misleading. The entire site is a complete mess. Edit: Fixed spelling mistake. Had written "completely" rather than "complete".

RE: Yuna: Poor front-end development on Messenger Plus! 5 Website
Exactly, it's very poor. It's like being back in the early '00s. I've never ever coded like that. Edit: Removed a forward-slash.
