Hello,

I've just updated to Messenger Plus! and at first I couldn't see myself in the webcam any longer at first. After several restarts I managed to get it to work again, but I see now that there's a new Messenger Plus! icon on top of my webcam... In addition to that, it's freezing constantly.

I'm using WLM 2009 on Windows 7. It was working fine before the update earlier today. How can I solve it, or should I revert back to the previous version that was still working?

Install the latest version of Messenger Plus! for Skype.

Already have the latest version for Skype (1.8.0.125), this problem is related to Windows Live Messenger, not Skype.

Restart your computer and try.

If you see yourself in "Audio and Video settings", I don't understand the problem.

Plz provide screenshots and a scenario.

Do you have the problem when WLM is running and Skype NOT running?

I got it working again, though a weird empty bar appears in the middle of monitor #1 (not the monitor showing the WLM call) centred. That is while running WLM and Skype at the same time. No difference yet when only running WLM.

Anyway...for now it seems to work again with no obvious fix. I tried testing before, but the amount of people on WLM have been getting less and less, thank you Microsoft.

Thanks for the help so far. The major problem seem resolved so far. Though I think I might revert back to the previous version as Messenger Plus! For Skype seems to be taking control over all of my webcam programs even if it isn't WLM or Skype, but other messengers.

Excellent!

The latest Plus! for Skype just starts the video for any application requesting Plus! Virtual Camera instead of providing Plus! static logo image.  That's only it!

Therefore, I do not recommend you to revert back as other webcam applications on your computer, "may see" a Black screen without video.

We put lot of efforts to improve the webcam feature. When we get feedback and suggestions from you, Plus! community, we try to implement as much as we can in a reasonable time frame.

I wonder what the bar is that I see on the centre of my monitor though...it seems to appear every time I do a video call in WLM, Skype and even in QQ International.
It has no function and clicking on it will bring it to the front, with no program being selected. It seems to serve no purpose but to show that a webcam is turned on. I can't turn it off, nor move it, nor do anything with it.
It's a white bar being centred in the main screen.

Edit: (Black on the right is my second monitor on which the WLM conversation was, minimized at the moment of screen capture, of course.)

Edit 2: Same appears when starting my cam in Skype and QQ, it does actually also appear when changing webcam settings and starting it in the settings screen of both WLM 2009, Skype (latest), QQ International (latest).

How did you get that bar in middle of screen?

It just keeps showing while having an open webcam session with either another person or on some video settings screen. Goes away as soon as I close it. I just can't close, or move it, manually. Only bring it to the front by clicking on it.
