Yes, all the old ones and some of the animated ones, but there are lots of transparent ones and, plus, most of you people know how to add transparency to a gif... :dodgy:

Doesn't make PHP slow, just makes the forums do more of the fast PHP :P

I haven't seen the server error for a while though... maybe it wouldn't do too much harm now.  Or perhaps we could have the advanced search page back?

That search page is TOO advanced. Doing an advanced search through the text of 50000 messages requires too much processing. I've been able to make the server load exceed 10.00 with that script... :s

Back to the topic... uhh, anyone have a collection of transparent .gifs yet? :p

Course not :P but there's no harm in stretching the server a bit, but within its limits, in compromise for better quality forums :P

Maybe you could make the search page even more advanced... so you could choose to search recent posts only, as well as choosing forum and username.  If the search covers too many threads, the request could be rejected, or better still put through to basic search.

Think about it eh?  We know u can do it :chrongue:

yeah it would only be if we had enough server load to spare... if we're only just avoiding the server limit then fine.  Better save than sorry i guess :)

We're not on a dedicated server any more. More customers will probably be hosted here in the future, and I'd like to use as little load as possible to keep them and the admins happy. ;)

Best combination of speed and functionality for computers like mines (630MHz Celeron, 128 MB of RAM). Did the job nice and quick. And my Windows XP's been up for 11 days! :) :banana:

I made nice HTML pages with black and white backgrounds to show all the new emoticons. :D Note that the four "Old Animated" emoticons should replace the original ones.
You can unzip this on your PC (must maintain directory structure!) and view the HTML.

The black background is there to show that they are all transparent, but they look really ugly there. :P There aren't any dark themes in this board, are there? :\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

Well, the "MsgPlus Blue" has white/blue post backgrounds, so it doesn't look good on the blue one....... :-/ But is looks good on all other themes.

Do you want me to make it work on dark background as well? ://////////
If I do, it will look a little less nice on light backgrounds. :-/
