Hooray!   

I just finised my first plugin.  Can people test it out on older pc's, cos i could it test it on XP Home. 

It lets you quickly and easily send screenshots to your contacts, either full screen or the active window.

The commands are

/xssfull           -      captures the full screen

/xssactive      -      captures the active window in 2 seconds

/xssabout      -      about Screenshot Sender

if you want you can specify the time delay after /xssfull and /xssactive, but it's not required.

UPDATE - This is now v1.5 of the plugin and you can specify the time delayafter each command if you want, but if you don't, then the screenshot is taken instantly.

If have also made an installer now, to make it even easier to use.

It doesnt work

It doesn't work on my computer ( Windows 98 )

I found 1 problem.. but still it doesn't work..

regsvr32 "c:\program files\Messenger Plus!\Plugins\ss.dll"

change it to

regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 2\Plugins\ss.dll"



It still doesn't work.. but that's at least 1 problem you should change, The commands doesn't work.. I hope you fix it.. it should be hendy


A suggestion is to add the commands in the readme.txt and change the registername of the plugin to ScreenShotSaver.ss or smth

Yeah your right, it could be anything and everywere .. hehe.. but by default it's Messenger Plus! 2 and if it's changed it should keep away a lot questions

It works now... very very very nice dude.... thats brilliant

i'm not sure why it doesn't work for everyone.  I could only test it on two XP machines. 

I might make an installer for it, to make it easier

Any ideas for the next version anyone?

Anyone got it working on anything other than XP?

idea: full screenshot with time limit
idea: set your own time untill it makes the screenie
idea: let it make and send the screenie when you press a certain button (if possible, I think it isn't)
idea: when the screenie is made, let a box pop up "the screenie has been made and is now being sent" then I don't have to look if the IM window is flashing blue

btw nice plugin I'm really happy with it... now if you follow my ideas... it'll be perfect

maybe use /xssactive 5 to set timer to 5 secs, if you do that for all commands it would be cool

I Re-Installed everything.. my MSN, Plus and some plugins.. but this one just doesn't work.. dunno why..  If i try the commands, it will just being send to him.. and it doesn't do anything.. I hope you can find the problem and fix it.. because it should be a very nice program!

i downloaded the version you posted here http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=13219 it is a different file size so i downloaded and tryed it and it works great nice plugin man

Yea the screenshots are saved in your temp folder and then sent.  I'm not sure why it works for some people and not others.

I'm just adding the time delay now, but that means you can't specify the filename, but never mind.

I might make an options screen so you can set some defaults, such as filename and default time delay if you dont specify one with the command.

And as far as i know you can't run a plugin when you press a [certain key].  Maybe Patchou could add something in a later version of Plus!, similar to the Share Files menu, where you can specift commands to run when certain keys are pressed like  F5 run /xssfull 5   etc

what would happen if you send the command when chatting to several ppl? I might check this..

Dempsey, can you just confirm if i have the theory right on this plugin:

You get the username of the contact of the conversation you typed the command in, and get the hwnd of the window using FindWindow API Call and used the title bar which is

{username} - conversation

then you made the screenshot, saved it as JPG (using that second DLL) and stored in windows temp folder (you got the temp folder location from the registry?), then used SendMessage API Call to send a message to the hwnd of the window, tell it to request file transfer of the file with the sArguement filename (Or My_Screenshot if it doesnt exist)...



EDIT#1: I found a bug! If you do a capture in 1 convo, then another in another convo, it will replace the old one.. you should have it check if one exists and if so then give it an incrementing name

EDIT#2: if you do it while one is already sending, it will just send the text

EDIT#3: PlusFan, it says you cant send a pic to more than 1 person in a convo
